Key inclusion criteriaConsulted general practitioner (GP) in the previous 12 months with neck pain, at least 18 years old, with neck pain duration of at least four weeks
Key exclusion criteriaKnown serious pathology (cancer), rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondilitis, abnormal neurology in upper arms, main pain below the elbow, or in some other part of the body, surgery on the neck, haemophilia, currently receiving acupuncture, pending litigation related to their neck, unable to give informed consent
