Study objectivesIs food photography a useful tool in the management of people with diabetes and can it influence people's choice of food portion size and their perception of what they eat?

InterventionVisit 1: patients will be randomised to complete a standard written food diary or a photographic food diary (using a 35 mm camera)
Visit 2: participants will be given education and nutrition counselling by the dietician based on their respective food diaries. Baseline measurements of body weight and HbA1c will be taken.
Visit 3: all participants will repeat measurements of body weight and HbA1c
