Study objectives | This study aims to gain preliminary evidence to support or refute the inclusion of eutrophic stimulation in a rehabilitation programme following primary repair of Median and/or Ulnar nerves at wrist level. |
Ethics approval(s) | Not provided at time of registration |
Health condition(s) or problem(s) studied | Primary nerve repair |
Intervention | 1. Eutrophic stimulation 2. Standard treatment |
Intervention type | Other |
Primary outcome measure | The primary outcome measure will be the two point discrimination test (sensibility). Subjects will be assessed in terms of sensibility, range of motion, motor and functional recovery using valid and reliable clinical assessment methods. Results may generate related research in both the field of hand trauma and peripheral nerve injury. Future studies may determine such things as optimum stimulation parameters. |
Secondary outcome measures | Not provided at time of registration |
