Scientific titleEvaluation of education for registered nurses working in municipality care; an experimental study with an intervention and comparison group
Study objectivesRegistered nurses taking part in an education (intervention group) improve their self-rated scores of professional competence, thriving , self-efficacy, job satisfaction, strucutral empowerment and quality of care more over time than registered nurses not taking part in the education (comparison group).

Furthermore, are there any differences in the units' (where the nurses work) error reports, and reports in the national quality registers Senior alert and Palliative Care?

Health condition(s) or problem(s) studiedEducation for registered nurses working in municipality care
InterventionThe registered nurses apply for the education if they are interested and all registered nurses that take part in the education will be invited to take part in the study. From the participating municipalities, we will ask registered nurses that chose not to take part in the education (intervention) to take part in a comparison group.

The education will take part regardless of the research.

4. Error reports will be collected from the units where the nurses work (retrospectively 12 months before the education) and 12 months after all education.
5. The units' reports in the national quality registers Senior alert and Palliative Care will be collected six months before the intervention and six months after all education.
