Intervention | The registered nurses apply for the education if they are interested and all registered nurses that take part in the education will be invited to take part in the study. From the participating municipalities, we will ask registered nurses that chose not to take part in the education (intervention) to take part in a comparison group. The education will take part regardless of the research. An education program 7.5 credits given by the university on behalf of the municipality within one region. Registered nurses within the municipality apply for the education that is 7.5 credits each for two courses, they can attend one course (7.5 credits) or both (15 credits). The courses are "Advanced nursing within municipal care, 7.5credits" and "Palliative nursing, 7.5 credits" |

Data collection will be during the first week(s) of the education and when the education ends and at the same time in the comparison group (might be with one months delay) |

Structural empowerment measured using the Condition of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire (CWEQ-II) 19 items six factors and 3. Quality of care measured with the Nurse Satisfaction with given Care (NSC) 9 frågor and 2 items measuring evidence-based care (belief in one's ability and motivation/intention) Data collection for 1-3 will be during the first week(s) of the education and when the education ends and at the same time in the comparison group (might be with one month delay) 4. Error reports will be collected from the units where the nurses work (retrospectively 12 months before the education) and 12 months after all education. 5. The units' reports in the national quality registers Senior alert and Palliative Care will be collected six months before the intervention and six months after all education. |
