Scientific title
Study objectivesTo explore the clinical and molecular outcome of two surgical treatments (regeneration and repair) for the management of intrabony defects will be compared in patients with aggressive periodontitis.
Ethics approval(s)Not provided at time of registration
Health condition(s) or problem(s) studiedPeriodontitis
Intervention1. Group A: regeneration treatment
2. Group B: repair treatment
Intervention typeOther
Primary outcome measureThe main clinical outcome variables will be Lifetime Cumulative Attachment Loss (LCAL) and level of bone loss. The main laboratory outcome variables will be change in level of specific growth factors (Platelet-Derived Growth Factor [PDGF], Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor [VEGF], Transforming Growth Factor beta [TGFb]), Bone Morphogenetic Protein [BMP] and osteoprotegerin.
